debugging a broken nether portal network

All of my nether portals lead to the overworld portal I use first... Help!

I have 10 pairs of overworld/underworld portals. All placed so that the nether portal X and Z coordinates are exactly overworld coordinates divided by 8. Everything worked fine... until recently.

The first portal I enter from nether -> overworld "locks" my overworld destination All portals in the nether now exit at this locked overworld location.

Restarting the game resets the "lock" so I can change the locked overworld location by restarting and entering the portal of my choice... "locking" that overworld destination for the current game session

The problem is not bi-directional. Overworld portals always go to their corresponding portal in the nether

It does not appear to be related to distance. Two pairs of portals thousands of blocks away in the overworld, 300+ blocks away in the nether, can exhibit this behaviour... both nether side portals going to the same overworld portal.

Please Help.

Thanks !

I didn't find the right solution from the internet.
