Thinking of surprising the wife with a long weekend away somewhere in the next couple of months. She loves Christmas, so I'm tending towards somewhere with decent Christmas markets and thinking of going in early December. From what I hear, it seems that the Germans are the best at Christmas markets.
My first thought was that Berlin was the obvious destination. But a bit of Googling (namely this link here) suggests that as far as Germany is concerned Aachen, Nuremberg, Dresden and Cologne are better than Berlin for Christmas markets.
Obviously, we want other stuff to see and do as well as the Christmas markets - so perhaps Berlin is the best choice? But I wondered if anyone had any direct experience of any of these places and could offer any thoughts?
Many thanks in advance.
I didn't find the right solution from the internet.
