I'm a new BA and also I've searched a lot about Workflow Modeling Methodologies and I know one of the major problems of modeling workflow systems is tahat each WFMS uses its own modeling technique . I 'm working on a paper and I've been trying to do a compilation of workflow modeling methodologies but I 've only found one when I've read Workflow Modeling Tools for Process Improvement and Applications Development (Second Edition) by Alec Sharp it focus on swimlane diagrams. In other books , I found that workflow models are divided into 2 groups: activity-based models and models based on communication but just that classification.
In addition , there are other sources of information that classified according to modeling languages used for example IDF activity diagram UML, BPMN , etc IS there a real methodolgy?. I would like to know if there is a widely accepted classification for workflow modeling . Can you tell me if they are workflow modeling Methodologies , Workflow Modeling Techniques or are just languages for modeling workflow.
Thanks!
I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
