cooling sensor gone haywire

Hello,

I have a problem with my CPU cooler, The hardware monitor say the core temp is 60+ degrees celsius, and the highest i've seen it is 90 degrees and this sets of a quite annoying alarm sound.

The thing is that when i look at my monitoring programs it shows core temps at between 25-23 degrees ( i have checked with multiple programs) and my computer is very cold running, and the cpu doesn't feel warm at all. this leads me to believe that the internal sensor in the hardware is broken. Is this something anyone else has encountered, and possible solutions?

I didn't find the right solution from the internet.
