Is trade good hauling a wasit tof time?

Hi i'm a few weeks into this game. I noticed small margin on NPC trade goods But the time it takes to putt around is not worth it as there is no real supply and demand system for NPC stations. It would of been cool is planets and colonies put out buy orders for things they lacked to function. So buying soil and selling to a agri world or to a orbital farming station at a higher price would be nice.

But my question is, is this trading system pointless? Seems to me the margin is to low the travel time is to long and sales volume is never high enough. If you only make 30 isk per item to get a decent return you would need 10s of thousands of units. and sales seem to be in the 10s or 100s. at low price.

I think im going to give up on this venture as I feel it needs reworked in to some useful supply demand biased system. Or have trade and industrial goods some how tie into colony needs so players put in profitable buy orders to keep their people fed and well maintained

Thanks !

I didn't find the right solution from the internet.
